- How to contact us
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using Prism, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use. If you are using Prism on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organization.
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we handle your information. When you subscribe through an app store, that store's terms also apply to your purchase.
2. Who can use Prism
Prism's individual service is for adults: you must be 18 or older to use it, and by using it you confirm that you are. Prism for Education may be used by students aged 13 and older, but only when it is provided through their school or educational institution and under that institution's authorization, together with any parental consent the law requires. Prism is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
If we learn that a child under 13 has used Prism, or that someone under 18 has used the individual service outside an authorized Prism for Education deployment, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information and close the account.
3. The service
Prism is a learning companion, launching on iPhone first, with Android to follow. You can take or choose a photo, type a subject, or set a goal, and Prism helps you learn about it. You can also explain a concept in your own words, by typing or speaking, and Prism gives you feedback. Prism builds a personal concept map from what you explore and helps you track your understanding over time.
Explanations are generated by AI. The identifications, explanations, and feedback that Prism produces are created by artificial intelligence. They are meant for general learning and curiosity. Please read the AI disclaimer below before relying on anything Prism tells you.
We are always working to improve Prism. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may set or adjust usage limits, as needed to operate the service and keep it sustainable.
4. Accounts and security
To use the app, you create an account with your email address. Prism does not use passwords. Instead, you sign in with a one-time code that we email to you each time. This means access to your email inbox is what protects your account.
- Keep your email account secure, and do not share the one-time codes we send you.
- You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
- Tell us promptly at support@learnwithprism.app if you believe someone has accessed your account without your permission.
We may suspend or limit account access if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect Prism, our users, or our providers.
5. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
Prism offers a subscription with a free trial.
- Free trial. New subscribers get a 10-day free trial.
- Price. After the trial, the subscription costs $15 per month or $134.99 per year (US dollars).
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. Unless you cancel before the end of the current period, your subscription renews automatically and the then-current price is charged to your app store account.
- Managing and cancelling. You manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, following the cancellation steps in your app store.
- Billing. Subscriptions are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, and we never receive your full payment card number.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled under the app stores' policies. Requests for refunds go through the App Store or Google Play.
If we change subscription prices, we will give notice in advance, and any change applies only to future billing periods. Your app store may also display its own terms for trials, renewals, and refunds, and those terms apply to your purchase.
6. Waitlist and marketing emails
On this website, you can join the waitlist for early access by giving us your email address and telling us which device you use. Agreeing to these terms is required to join. Opting in to marketing emails is optional and separate: you can join the waitlist without agreeing to receive marketing.
If you opt in to marketing emails, we send occasional updates about Prism. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and you can ask us to delete your waitlist record. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access by any particular date.
7. Acceptable use
Prism is meant to be a calm, useful place to learn. When you use it, please do not:
- Use Prism for anything illegal, or to harm, harass, threaten, or abuse others.
- Upload or submit content that infringes someone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Try to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, or interfere with the security or operation of the service.
- Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access or misuse Prism, or attempt to extract our underlying models or data.
- Exceed or work around usage limits or rate limits, or otherwise place an unreasonable load on the service.
- Reverse engineer, copy, or resell the service except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
We may set rate limits and usage meters to keep Prism reliable and to prevent abuse. Please respect them.
8. Your content and the license you grant
You keep ownership of the images, photos, voice recordings, and text you provide to Prism. We do not claim ownership of your inputs.
To operate Prism, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, transmit, and display your content, and to use it to provide and improve the service. This includes sending your content to the providers that power Prism's features, for example to identify an image, generate or grade an explanation, transcribe a voice recording, or build your concept map.
What we will and will not do
- We do not sell your content.
- Our AI providers process your content under their own terms in order to deliver these features. To our knowledge, they do not use content submitted through their APIs to train their models by default.
- Your personal concept map is stored in our backend in storage isolated to your account, and the app keeps a temporary copy on your device as a cache.
You are responsible for the content you provide, and you confirm you have the rights to submit it. For more detail on how your information flows through our providers, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Our intellectual property
Prism, including the app, this website, the Prism name and brand, the design, and the software behind them, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. The explanations and other content that Prism generates for you are provided to you for your personal learning, subject to your own rights in the inputs you provide.
You may use Prism only as these terms allow. We do not grant you any rights in our trademarks, logos, or brand without our written permission.
10. AI disclaimer and no professional advice
Explanations in Prism are generated by AI and can be incomplete or wrong. They are for general learning and are not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. Please verify anything important before you rely on it. We make no guarantee of any particular learning outcome.
Prism does not claim to match any "learning style," and it does not make medical or guaranteed-result claims. Use your own judgment, and consult a qualified professional for decisions that matter.
11. Disclaimers of warranties
Prism is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that Prism will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that its outputs will be accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from or related to your use of Prism.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Prism is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tundra Gateway Management Ltd. and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) that arise from your use of Prism, your content, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right. We may take over the defense of any matter for which you owe indemnification, and you agree to cooperate with us.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Law Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in [Governing Law Jurisdiction] will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at info@learnwithprism.app so we can try to resolve the matter directly. Nothing here removes any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Your continued use of Prism after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, please stop using Prism and, if you wish, close your account.
16. Termination
You can stop using Prism at any time. You can delete your account in the app, after which we anonymize the personal data associated with it so that it can no longer be tied back to you, and you can clear the on-device cache by deleting the app. Cancelling your subscription is done through your App Store or Google Play account, as described above.
We may suspend or end your access to Prism if you breach these terms, if needed to protect the service or other users, or if we stop offering the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as the content license you have granted for content already processed, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will continue to apply.
